Rest in Peace, Steve

Steve Jobs, 1955-2011

I’m at a loss for words. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

The only thing I can say is that he left one hell of a legacy that will outlive us all. His hard work and dedication will serve as an example of how to achieve something great.

If every corporate CEO was more like Steve, if they all cared as much about the end result, if they were as involved in their products as Steve was, the world would be a much better place, of that I am convinced.

RIP Steve.

Android App Store vs iOS App Store

So fake games have become fairly prominent in Android’s App Store.

This is debated to death, but here’s my take:

Apple has their sandbox. As a developer, if you piss in it, you get kicked out. End of story. As a user, if you don’t like that policy, find another sandbox to play in. But don’t be surprised when you’re building a sandcastle and find a large pile of shit buried just beneath the surface.

Its just funny how every time there is a new scam, this debate rises again. The iPhone fanboys roll in and troll about how awesome it is they can live life free (for the most part) of true scams, and the Android fanboys all scream (in one voice) “But at least we’re OPEN!”, proving over and over again that they really don’t understand what “open” means.

GebraColor, an almost jokingly tiny and limited application…

This has been in the oven since WWDC2006, before I really knew what I was doing with Cocoa (its debatable if much has changed…). It’s suffered several rewrites, has been forgotten about and given up on at least a dozen times over, but I still kept coming back to screwing with it whenever I once again decided I was going to learn Obj-C.
